Thank you for representing First Sun EAP at an employee orientation. Below are some guidelines for
how to make this event successful. If you have any questions at any time please contact us. We are
happy to help.
Employee orientations are important because employees are more likely to use EAP services if they know
what services are available and how to access them. Employees who use EAP services are less likely to
have workplace concerns. These employees enhance the effectiveness of the workplace.
Goals:
Make a personal connection with the folks organizing the orientation
Share information with employees about the range of EAP services and how to access them
Listen to employees
Encourage questions about EAP services
Materials: We will provide all the materials you need. They will either be delivered to the site or to you. They include:
Arrangements will be made ahead of time for what to do with the materials after the event.
Process: We receive a request from the employer to conduct an employee orientation. We contact you to see if you want to attend and provide directions on how to get there and who to meet as well as any other particulars about the event site. Here is the process:
Call and let us know about notable events, feedback or requests
How to get paid: Document your activity on a Network Provider Log and include the company name, the hours you spent, the date and the number of employees in attendance. There is no authorization number, but you will need to note that it was an "Employee Orientation training" and who at First Sun asked you to do it. Mail or fax it to us so that we receive it no later than the 6th of the month.
Requests for services: It is not uncommon for employees or coordinators to make a connection with you
and to request further services - personal counseling, another employee orientation or benefits fair. If this
happens, please indicate that we are delighted to assist and that services need to be coordinated through
our corporate office by calling 800-968-8143. Then let us know about the request so we can follow up.
